Flex is comprised of many Web Parts which are continually updated with code to enable new features. The majority of new features are not automatically added to the Flex site with Updates but are enabled within the code of the Web Parts. Each customer can determine if they wish to utilize the new feature by following the instructions provided.
Do not remove any Flex Web Parts without checking with support@lookout-software.com.
Adding Web Parts
To add a new web part to your Flex site follow the standard SharePoint methodology. Put your page in Edit Mode and click “Add a Web Part” which will appear on your page.
Then select your Part and click Add.
You may be doing this to add Sub-Grids to existing Display pages or adding a third party web part to a list view such as Pentalogic Pivot Point.
Populate Web Part Gallery
Follow these instructions to add Flex Web Parts to the Miscellaneous Category. You will need appropriate permissions to perform this action.
- Go to the Top Level Site.
- Locate Site Settings.
- Under Web Designer Galleries click on Web Parts.
- Then from the Tool Bar select the Files Tab.
- Choose NEW Document.
- Select all Web Parts starting with LookOut…xxxx.
- Once all Lookout Web Parts are selected, click the Populate Gallery button at the top of the list.
