April 2019 -Sub-Grid Load On-Demand

As a performance boost we have added new functionality to give Flex customers the ability to control which Sub Grids should load automatically and which can be loaded by the user On-Demand.

This new functionality needs to be turned on with a Setting and has several options as outlined below.

Setting Name: SubgridLoadOnDemand
Setting Value: True/False

By using the a True value with the Setting above will turn all Sub Grids into a Load On-Demand state.

Each Sub Grid can now be configured individually to adjust the Loading state. To enable a specific Sub Grid to load by default make the following configuration change to the Sub Grid Web Part.

  1. Right Mouse Click on the Green Up Arrow to access Settings.

  1. Click Settings to access configuration and select Flex Behavior
  2. Change the default selection “UseSettingsEntry” to “LoadWhenPageFirstLoads”

Another option with this feature if you would rather leave all Sub Grids to load by default but simply turn some off follow these steps:

  1. Either do not add the Setting or change the Setting value to False.
  2. Go to each Sub Grid that you wish to NOT load by default and edit the Web Part as described above.
  3. Change the drop down value from the default “UseSettingsEntry” to “LoadWhenClicked”

Note: This feature was added April 2019.
