Postpone Tasks

The ability to Postpone Tasks is an efficiency feature of Flex because it enables the user to quickly postpone the task item without having to pull up the SharePoint calendar and find the postponing time frame. The postpone task feature can have as many timeframes as required.

Users can access the Postpone task functionality from the Custom Menu of the Task List, the Display page of a Task item, or the Task Sub-grid of any Display page.

Note: The Amount of Time is added to the current date and not the date of the Task. So if the task is 3 months old and you postpone it 3 days it will be 3 days from today and not 3 days from 3 months ago.

Configuring

To have the Postpone Task functionality configured for your Flex add the following value item to the “TasksActionBarItems” Advanced Flex Setting, which will also add the Postpone task icon to the Sub-Grid and the Custom Menu automatically.

By default, the Postpone Task function will display 1, 3 & 7-day options. To override this default add the following setting with the values of your choice:

Setting Name: PostponeDays
Setting Value: Days to be added One row each (maximum is 8)

Note: The maximum number of value items is 8.

To set a default choice other than the first item (which is the default behavior) add the following Setting:

Setting Name: PostponeTaskDefaultDays
Setting Value: Select the “value” item to default to your choice (ie. 4)
