Interactions Flex Settings

The Interactions List has a standard set of Advanced Flex Settings which can be further configured based on your business need. This section lists them for your reference.

Setting Name: InteractionsListMapping (previously called: SalesCallsMapping)
Setting Value: Interactions (default)

This List Mapping Setting Name itself should never be changed, even if the Setting Value and List Name are changed. (Search the “Changing a List Name” section of this Guide for further details.)

Setting Name: InteractionsSingular
Setting Value: Interaction (default)

This Setting controls the naming for a singular instance of the Interactions List. If the List Mapping value is changed then the Singular name should change. Example, if the “InteractionsListMapping” value is “Conversations” then the Singular name would now be “ConversationsSingular” with a value of “Conversation”.

The Singular Value is also the column field that the Outlook Plugin recognizes for its toolbar functions.. For example, if the Singular name for the list is changed, the “Create Interaction” button on the Plugin Toolbar also will change. (Search the “Changing a List Name” section of this Guide for further information.)

Setting Name: InteractionsQuickActions
Setting Value: [listname of item to create]|[Parent]|[Prompt text]

This setting controls the flow for the Quick Actions feature. (Search the “Quick Actions” section of this Guide for more information.)

Setting Name: InteractionsActionBarItems
Setting Value: [Display Text]|[Icon File Name]|[ListName]

This Setting controls the functions that appear on the Action Bar of the Interactions Display.

The Icons used on Action Bars are located in Flex “Imagelist”. (Refer to the “Action Bar” section of this Guide for additional information.)

Setting Name: InteractionsCustomMenuItems
Setting Value: [Listname]|[Menu text]|[image name]

This Setting adds the specified menu items to the Interactions list drop-down menu. For the Setting Value, be sure to follow the syntax shown, listing each entry on a separate row. (Search the “Custom Menu Items” section of this Guide for more information.)

Setting Name: InteractionsEmailFieldMapping
Setting Value: (See Example)

This Setting defines which fields are included when copying an Interaction into an Outlook email message.

The Setting Value must include the Subject and Body on a separate line with Field Names to be copied in brackets, separated by commas:

Setting Name: InteractionsDisplayFormLinkExclusions
Setting Value: [Field names] separated by commas

This Setting controls which column fields will not contain shortcut edit links on the Interaction Display. (Seearch the“Display Form Editing” section of this Guide for further details.)

Setting Name: LastContactFieldName
Setting Value: Last Interaction (Default)

This is the Field name used on the Account list and the Opportunity list. If no setting exists the name used would be “Last Contact”. This Setting lets you change the name that this function uses. (Refer to the “Last Interaction” section of this Guide for further detail.)

Setting Name: InteractionDateFieldName
Setting Value: Interaction Date

This setting is used in conjunction with the function to update the Last Interaction for the Opportunity and Account. The Last Interaction on an Opportunity will override the Last Interaction Date on the Account. (Refer to the “Last Interaction” section of this Guide for further detail.)

Setting Name: CalendarItemFromInteractionMapping (previously called: AppointmentFromInteractionMapping)
Setting Value: Default is “[Summary]=[Next Step]”

This Setting takes data from the “Next Step” field of an Interaction and copies it as default text to the “Summary” field of a connected Calendar Item.

In the Setting Value, the left side is the field column in the Calendar List and the right side is the field column in the Interactions List. (Refer to the “Connecting Tasks and Interactions” section for additional information.)
