List Views as Reports

SharePoint List Views can be configured to provide ad hoc reports but to gain the most value from the various functions, you will require knowledge of how filtering works, along with calculated fields. There is a lot of information available on the internet. We will be covering the basics.

Below is an example of a simple list view report showing Weekly Activity Report based on the Interactions list and a filter of 10 Days.

Use (+) and minus (-) as shown below to create List View “reports”. Make sure there are no spaces in your formulas.

Further, push the reporting aspect of List Views by using Calculated fields such as “Start of the Year” and “End of the Year.” Contact us for a special instruction sheet with dozens of useful Calculated Fields.

By using calculated fields within Views, such as “Start of the Year” and “End of the Year” it’s possible to create useful “Report Views” such as “Leads This Year” as shown below.
