Administrator Guide

As Flex evolves earlier settings may become redundant for various reasons or a Setting name change may be applied. If a name change applies, the original name and the new name will be recognized by Flex.

The following Setting changes can be made once your site is updated to the latest version. This list will be added to as time goes on to assist customers with maintaining a clean and useful set of Settings for their Flex.

It is recommended that name changes be followed due to documentation updates. Ensure that the latest updates have been applied.

The settings with a default are not required unless the default name is to be changed.

1. 2010+ Versions can remove “HideSideBarCreateNew”. No longer used.
2. “SearchListsViewsAndFields” has been changed to “FullSearchListsViewsAndFields”.
3. “SideBarSearchLabel” has been changed to “QuickSearchLabel“.
4. Can remove “ActionBarShowIcons”. The default behavior is to show Icons.
5. Can remove “ActionBarPadding”. No longer used.
6. Can remove “GridNoItemsText”. The default is set.
7. Can remove “AllowEmailToOpenNotSave”. This function will work without a setting now.
8. 2010+ versions can remove “SideBarSearchLabel” and “SideBarSearchLabel2”. No longer required.
9. Can remove “TabHighlightOffSet”. No longer required.
10. “[ListName]NewFollowUp” has been changed to “[ListName]QuickActions”.
11. “[ListName]TypeColumn” has been changed to “[ListName]MultitypeColumnName”.
12. “AlertMeActionBarEnable” has been changed to “ShowAlertMeOnActionBars”.
13. “AutonumberFields” has been changed to “AutoNumberLists”.
14. “[ListName]EmailFieldMapping” has been changed to “[ListName]SendViaEmailColumns”.
15. “CascadeCompanyNameChange” can be removed. The default has been set to True.
16. “ContactAddressFieldMappings” has been changed to “ContactsAddressColumnMappings”.
17. “CreateDocumentFolderWhenSaveNewItemLists” has been changed to “DocumentFoldersCreatedForNewItemLists”.
18. “DisplayFormShowAddTaskInteractionForParent” has been changed to “ShowAddTaskInteractionForParentOnDisplayForm”.
19. “DoNotHideAddNewForTheseLists” has been changed to “ShowNewItemLinkForTheseLists”.
20. “EditNewFormAdditionalActionsAtBottom” has been changed to “InteractionsOpportunityColumnsDisplayAtBottom”.
21. “EditNewFormAdditionalActionsHiddenDefault” has been changed to “ShowInteractionsOpportunityColumns”.
22. “EditNewFormAdditionalActionsLabels” has been changed to “InteractionsOpportunityLabel”.
23. “FollowupShowSendEmail” has been changed to “ShowSendViaEmailonQuickActions”.
24. “MaxNumberOfSubgridItems” can be removed. The overall default is 5 and each Sub-Grid configuration can override.
25. “MoveItemsAllowedLists“ has been changed to “AllowMoveItemsLists“.
26. “MoveitemsAllowedUsers“ has been changed to “AllowMoveItemsUsers“.
27. “OpportunityNextTaskDateFieldMapping“ can be removed. The default is set to “Next Task Date”.
28. “OpportunityStatusChangeDateFieldName“ can be removed. The default is “Status Change Date”.
29. “OpportunityStatusCompleteTerm“ can be removed. The default is “Complete Status”.
30. “OpportunityStatusFieldName“ can be removed.The default is “Opportunity Status”.
31. “PreviousStatusInAccountsFieldMapping“ can be removed. The default is “Previous Status”.
32. “QuickSearchShowCreateDocumentFolder“ name has changed to “ShowCreateDocumentFolderInQuickSearch“.
33. “QuickSearchShadeInactiveContacts“ can be removed. The default is true.
34. “SalesCallsMapping” is changed to “InteractionsMapping”. Both Settings will work.
35. “ShowFullSearch“ can be changed to “ShowFullSearchInQuickSearch“.
36. “ShowDataViewerInEachSubgridRow“ can be removed as each Sub-Grid can be configured individually.
37. “StageStatusField“ can be changed to “OpportunityStageStatusColumnName“.
38. “StatusChangeDateInAccountsFieldMapping“ can be removed. Default column name is “Status Change Date”.
39. “StatusInAccountsFieldMapping“ can be removed. Default column name is “Status”.
40. “TaskCompletionText” can be removed. Default column name is “Completed”.
41. “TaskDueDateFieldMapping“ can be removed. Default column name is “Due Date”.
42. “TasksNewPromptToEditExisting“ can be removed. Default is set to true.
43. “TotalContactsFieldInCampaign“ can be removed. Default is set to “Total Contacts”.
44. “TaskFromInteractionMapping” is now handled by the Copy Down feature and can be removed.
45. “WizardNewItemShowEmail” is no longer used and can be removed.
46. “QuickSearchListsAndFields“ is replaced by the “CreateNewAndSearchManager“ (See documentation to ensure you are on the appropriate version.)
47. All“[ListName]CustomMenuItems“ settings are replaced by the “CreateNewAndSearchManager“ (See documentation to ensure you are on the appropriate version.)
48. All “[ListName]DeleteRelatedItems“ settings are replaced by a new system in January 2017 (see documentation).
49. “DeBugPermissions” is no longer used. It can be deleted.
50. “OutlookPluginCacheRefreshMinutes” is no longer required. It can be removed.
51. “MoveContactIncludeRelatedItems” is no longer required. It can be removed.
52. “ManagerTaskDueDays” was designed for a specific customer. It can be removed if it exists in your setting list.
53. “OpenFilesSecondaryMethod” is no longer required. It can be removed.
54. “AllowDocumentsToOppenNotSave” is no longer required. It can be removed.
55. “AllowEmailToOpenNotSave” is no longer required. It can be removed.
56. “ConvertLeadDuplicateCheckStatus” is no longer required. It can be removed.

Deleting Settings

Do not delete the existing Advanced Settings unless this Guide specifies the Setting is not required.

To disable a Setting, apply an “x” to the front of the Setting Name, which will render the Setting invalid. If issues arise from disabling the Setting you can easily remove the “x” and return the setting to its original state.
