Display Form Link Exclusions

Display forms enable users to click a hyperlink on the Form to quickly access and edit a specific field value.

The main Edit icon still appears in the Action Bar, but this feature is an efficiency addition. Users may be further down a form reading information and find that a change should be made. Rather than forcing them to the main Action Bar they can click the field itself and find themselves directly at the field value that needs editing.

This setting is available for every Flex list item that uses Display Forms. Using this Setting, each field that should not be editable can have the hyperlink removed. When fields are added to this Setting, users will no longer be able to click on a hyperlink and edit the field.

Each Flex list that uses a Display Form can utilize this Setting to control which field values should be for display only.

Setting Name: [ListName]DisplayFormLinkExclusions
Setting Value: [Field Names] separated by commas

Below is an example of some field values that would be useful on a Display form for viewing, but shouldn’t be editable for users. Therefore the hyperlink would be removed from the form by adding the field names to this Setting.

Note: It is not required that when a field is added to a form for display purposes only, that it is also added to this setting. However it will be confusing if users click a field on the Display form to edit it and find that field value not available on the Edit form.
