The Recently Viewed feature is available from the Quick Launch bar. It shows the items most recently viewed, including documents. It can be configured to include new custom list items with the setting shown below.
Add the list item to the “RecentlyViewedListsAllowed” Setting which will already exist in Flex.
Setting Name: RecentlyViewedListsAllowed
Setting Value: [List Names], each List on a separate line
You can also determine how many values will show by default on the Recently Viewed panel with the following Setting.
Adding a Different Column to Recently Viewed Section
The entries for this setting are usually list titles, each on a separate line, and the setting will use the Title column for each list. However, if you need to view a column other than the Title column in the Recently Viewed section, simply add the list name followed by a pipe, and then the desired column title as shown below.

Setting Value: 3 (or number of your choosing up to 10)
