The SharePoint Flex Importer/Updater can be configured to enable Windows Scheduler to run an import/update process on a scheduled basis. It is best to schedule this overnight when users are less likely to be on the system.
The Importer/Updater can accept Windows credentials instead of explicit username/password/domain.
Note: The Import procedure must have been successfully completed prior to configuring the scheduler. The application “remembers” the configurations that were completed manually.
Configuring
- Select the Create Scheduled Task button which appears on the first page of the Importer once a manual import has been completed.
- Give a Name for the task, complete the password and other options presented. Click “Ok, create Task”.
- Click OK.
Windows Scheduler
Once the Scheduler has been set up follow the instructions below:
- Open the “Task Scheduler” applet from within Administrative Tools.
- From here you will able to view the last run date and other details of your scheduled task which can be modified as required.
