Flex can take advantage of the “Connect to Outlook” feature of SharePoint, however, this feature does NOT allow for filtering items by the user. When used, all Calendar items will be sent to Outlook (regardless of user.)
For most users it is preferable to use the Outlook Plugin and then save the Calendar item to Flex. In this case, the item details will be available to the individual user in their Outlook Calendar, and attached to the appropriate parent Account / Contact / Opportunity, etc. as history in Flex. It can also then be available to other users in a shared Calendar.
