New Flex features and functions can be switched on if desired. The steps for new features will vary, but most will include adding a new Setting along with list column fields and possible form updates. Occasionally a new list is required. Some new functions, however, are automatically added to Flex such as the Item Summary and Quick Actions pop-up buttons in various locations.
In addition to new features, Flex updates include optimized code sections to improve performance and maintain compatibility with browser updates. Additionally, we are continually extending existing features and functions to allow for variable environments.
For these reasons, we recommend updates be applied regularly even if new features are not desired.
