Icons and Links

The Sub-Grid properties in this category control the links, Action Icons and options appearing in the header, summary and line items.

Action Icons

This property controls whether or not Action Icons will appear in the Sub-Grid by default or only when the user places the mouse over the Hyperlink Column.

Select the desired behavior from the drop-down menu. The other choices are “Use Settings Entry” which is the default setting Site-Wide, or “Always Show”. (Refer to the “Show/Hide Action Icons section of this Guide for instructions on applying the Advanced Flex Setting for all Sub-Grids.)

To apply the configuration to ONLY show Action Icons with mouse hover across all Sub Grids add the following Setting:

Setting Name: ShowSubGridActionIcons
Setting Value: False

Do Not Add Hyperlink

This Sub-Grid setting disables the hyperlinks within the Grid and renders the items as “read-only”:

Show Parent Icons

This property controls whether the parent icons are added to the items appearing within the Sub-Grid.

For example, if you want to be able to hyperlink from an Interaction to its parent item, this property should be enabled.

Show Documents / Attachments

This property enables the viewing of Documents and SharePoint Attachments for an item within the Sub-Grid.

Note: Adding this option will slow the Sub-Grid down (especially if there are many attachments.)

When selected, an Action Icon and Tooltip will appear if a Document or Attachment to the item exists. If an item contains both Documents and SharePoint attachments, a list will be displayed in a pop-up window.

Show ‘Go To Folder’ Link

This optional property enables the “Go to Folder” hyperlink in the header section of a Document Sub-Grid.

Show ‘Go to Item Folder’ Link

If the Sub-Grid is displaying non-document items the Action Icon with a link to the items’ documents will be added (it will also create the folder if necessary.)

The “Go To Folder” option can also be added to the Quick Actions. Simply add the line “Gotofolder” to the Quick Actions Advanced Flex Setting for the List in which you want to use this option:

Note: The previous name for this Setting was “[ListName]NewFollowup”. Either Setting Name will work.

Show Refresh Totals Button

If checked, the ‘Refresh Totals’ button will be added which will recalculate the Totals for the items within the Sub-Grid.

Although totals will update by themselves, this property forces an immediate update. For example, if the Opportunities List has a column field called “Total Interactions”, the Interactions Sub-Grids would have this feature turned on so that the Total Interactions value would be instantly updated.

Show Send Via Email

This property enables the “Send Via Email” link in items appearing within the Sub-Grid if the list has this feature turned on via the Advanced Flex Setting “[ListName]EmailFieldMapping”.

Refer to the “Send Via Email” section of this Guide for further information.

Allow Export to Outlook for Contacts

This property enables the “Export to Outlook” Action Icon for Contacts appearing within a Sub-Grid, which allows sending Contact details to Outlook.

Allow Outlook Meeting Creation

NEW! This property applies only to Contact Sub-Grids. This property controls whether or not the “Create Meeting” link is enabled. (it is turned off by default).

This property allows the user to create an Outlook meeting for selected Contacts (email addresses of the recipients are sent to Outlook) directly from the Sub-Grid:

Note: When using this feature, a Flex Calendar item is NOT created (unless the Outlook Plugin Send and Save/ Save to Flex options are used when sending.)
