There are only Two Settings required to import a Contact list into Outlook. However, to ensure that the correct list items are being imported into your users Outlook Contact list please review the section on My Contacts.
The “Import Contacts” button appearing on the main Outlook Plugin toolbar in Outlook is controlled by the following Setting. Set to True to see the Import option and set to False to turn it off.
Setting Name: OutlookPluginImportContacts
Setting Value: True, False or Create a list of user names allowed to perform this function – each on its own row
The Import function refers to a specific View in Flex in order to know which items to import. A Filtered SharePoint View provides the necessary function to control which items are imported to each user’s Contact list.
Setting Name: OutlookPluginImportContactsViewName
Setting Value: Default is “My Contacts”

Importing Process
The following warning appears each time an Import is attempted. This simply informs the user that this function will overwrite any Contact data currently in Flex Contacts folder in Outlook and replace with what is stored in SharePoint.
The default folder for importing Contacts into Outlook is called “Flex Contacts” and is configured in the Plugin Settings. This is the folder name that will be used in Outlook. Each time the import is performed it overwrites the Flex Contact list with a new Flex Contact list.
