This feature enables the tracking of time to be applied to parent Flex items, such as Projects or Cases, (or custom Flex lists) through an Interaction item.
Time is added in the following formats:
1 for 1 hour
5 for 30 minutes
25 for 15 minutes
16 for 10 minutes
Configuring
There are two column fields and one Advanced Setting required for this feature to be enabled.
One field is the time applied on the Interaction item and the other is the accumulated time which appears on the parent item (ie. the Project).
- Add a Number column field to the child list called “Time” with TWO decimal places (ie. Interaction list).
- Add this field to the New, Edit and Display forms.
- Next add a Number Column field to the parent list level called Total Time (ie. Project).
- Add this field only to the Display Form as the users should not edit the fields.
- Now add an Advanced Flex Setting called “SumChildFields” with the values shown below. Each list has its own row in the Setting Value box.
Setting Name: SumChildFields
Setting Value: ParentList1|ChildList|FieldInParentList|FieldInChildList
Notice the syntax shown below: ParentList | Child List | Column Field Name in parent list | Column Field Name in child list.
Note: Add the Total Time feature to any set of child/parent Flex lists.
