This feature was added June 2016.
To open an item from within the Quick Search list results into a New Browser Tab Window add the following Setting.
Setting Name: QuickSearchRightClickNewTab
Setting Value: True
Note: This can always be overridden by the browser! If the user has a pop up blocker set then this function will not work. Also, most browsers (IE specifically) can specify what happens when you try to open a new window in its settings. In other words, this feature will work depending on the users environment. We cannot guarantee it will work on all systems.
