Send Flex Meeting to Outlook

For those users who want to use Flex for creating their meetings rather than Outlook this is a handy time saving feature. Simply create your meeting in Flex and this feature will automatically make the meeting Outlook-ready. This Feature was added December 2015.

This feature is available within the New form only. It is not available for the Edit form. Users must make their selection when they initially create the meeting.

With the January 2016 release this option will appear automatically. To remove and manage this feature add the settings shown below.

Once the user clicks the Flex Save button the following Outlook Calendar screen will be presented. Click ok and an Outlook Meeting item will be created. It will depend on the Outlook version and your browser choice as to the precise steps that follow the saving of the Flex Meeting.

The following screen is using Firefox.

The following screen is using Internet Explorer.

If the user chooses to open the meeting the following Outlook Meeting form is launched.

This feature will automatically be enabled with the January 2016 update. However, this feature can be switched off by adding the following setting.

Setting Name: ShowSendToOutlookAfterSave
Setting Value: True/False (default is true)

You may decide to make the option available to the user to choose whether the Meeting is sent to Outlook or not by having the feature available but the check mark switched off. With the following Setting you can determine whether the option is checked by default or not.

Setting Name: SendToOutlookAfterSaveDefaultChecked
Setting Value: True/False (default is true)

Note: This feature is only available when the Meeting is first created. The Edit form for the meeting will not have the check box available.
