If a Custom list has been created that will be embedded into Flex using forms then this step must be followed because the list items will require integration with other Flex lists and your Users will need to enter information into items.
Flex needs to replace the default SharePoint .aspx forms with the more powerful .aspx forms we just created in SharePoint Designer. Dispform2.aspx, Newform2.aspx and Editform2.aspx.
For more details on form design locate the New, Edit & Display Forms section in this Guide.
- Locate the list and create a New Item.
- The page will open to display the default SharePoint aspx New form.
- Click to “Edit Page”
- Click “Add a Web Part”
- In the Categories Section, locate the “Miscellaneous” and select it. If you do not see this grouping you must populate the Web Part Gallery. Search the Administrators Guide for instructions.
- In the Parts Section, locate the “CRMEditNewForm” and select it. Click “Add”.
- Click the “Open CRMEditNewProperties” link shown below which will open the web part for further configuration.
- To ensure your Newform2.aspx has loaded properly save it and repeat the steps to access the New Form. Now you should see TWO .aspx forms. You can immediately delete the original SharePoint Newform.aspx.
- In the Web Part properties for the Flex Web Part drag Available columns to the Selected columns in the order you want them displayed on the New form.
- Add the fields that you want to copy down from the parent to the child item if this applies. For more information on the “Copy Down” function refer to that section in this Guide.
- The Default Title String will put the text you enter into the Title field automatically, or leave blank if it’s a standalone list.
- Click OK to save your changes to the New form.
- Now you must add the Web Part to the Edit Form. Click to Edit the new item just created and follow the same steps as above to add the Web Part to the Edit page.
- Once the New and Edit forms are added you will need to add the Flex Display form.Follow the instructions above for adding a new Web Part but this time, select the “CRMDisplayFormFields” web part and click Add.
- Add a second Web Part called “CRMFormActionBar” This will add an Action Bar for your new list.
- Your page should now look like this:
- You can now delete the original SharePoint DispForm.aspx Web Part.
- Now you a ready to configure the “CRMDisplayFormFields” Web Part.
There is still work to do. Please review additional configurations from the Display Form section, and it’s sub-sections. Review section on list settings from the Core Flex Lists and Features section, and it’s sub-sections, and review section on Configurable Features and it’s subsections to see if any will suit your needs.
