Connection Reasons

Every list that is to be used with the Connection function must have a setting that defines the reason that one list is connected to another list.

Setting Name: [ListNameOneListNameTwo]ConnectionReasons
Setting Value: [Desired Connection reasons] each on a separate line

The example below demonstrates the configuration of a Connection between an Account and Contact. Each Setting Value is a relationship type, entered on a separate line.

The example below demonstrates the configuration of a Connection between an Opportunity and an Account. Each Setting Value is a relationship type, entered on a separate line.

Note: The order in which the list names are entered doesn’t matter. For example, either AccountsOpportunitiesConnectionReasons or OpportunitiesAccountsConnectionReasons will work.

Default Connection Value

If you wish to use a default value enter the value followed by a pipe ( | ) and the word “default” at the end of the value item.

Should your needs require it, Application Support/Configuration services are available for assistance with setting up Connections and other Advanced configurations. Contact a LookOut Software representative for more information.
