Each List (Accounts, Contacts, Interactions, etc.) has a set of Action Items which are displayed at the top of the Display Page. Different Display Pages contain Action Bars with varying functions because the options that appear on the Action Bar can be customized for each List.
The majority of actions are added to the Action Bar settings located in the Advanced Settings list. There are a few exceptions to this rule:
- The “Edit” function is standard on each Action bar by default.
- The “Alert Me!” function icon is controlled via its own Flex Setting (refer to the “SharePoint Alerts” section.)
To add/remove/edit or modify the Display text of items contained within the Action Bar, use the following Setting:
Setting Name: [ListName]ActionBarItems
Setting Value: [Display Text]|[Icon File Name]|[ListName]
Most actions (see exceptions below) should use this format in the Setting Value: [Text to be Displayed]|[Icon Image File Name]|[List Name]
Note: The Icon file name being used must exist in Flex “Imagelist” to show up correctly and must be in the exact format as specified here.
Setting Value: (See Example)
There are other Action Bar functions that can be added with Flex Setting (List)ActionBarItems, however the Setting Value format is slightly different.
