SharePoint allows for an array of pages to be added to any site and this flexibility applies to your Flex site as well. You can create as many reporting and dashboard summary pages as you need. When adding a new Web Part page you will lose the Quick Launch. Follow these steps to get it back.
Adding Quick Launch to New Pages
When creating new Web Part pages the Quick Launch bar may not always display depending on the type of page you have selected to add. Some lists, such as Web Part pages will not have the Quick Launch bar added by default, however, a Wiki page will.
- When on the page that requires the Quick Launch to be added click Site Actions – Edit in SharePoint Designer.
- Click All Files (Note: you may have slightly different steps depending on the configuration of your site)
- Locate the page you just created
- Click Edit File
- Click to Show Code
- Click Advanced Mode to Edit
- Remove the following two sections:
And:
- Save – You will get the following message – click Yes
- The Quick Launch should now appear on the Web Part page.
