This feature was added in September 2016.
If you require lists to be filtered when users search for items in the Quick Search add the following Setting. The Quick Search will then only deliver the results within that Filter.
Setting Name: QuickSearchFilteredViews
Setting Value: List Name | Views Name
In the example above only those Opportunities that show in the “In Progress View” will show in the Quick Search results. This Setting depends on the SharePoint View being properly set up.
