SharePoint Flex builds upon SharePoint’s permission system. From this regard, there are limitations in regard to field level permissions.
Flex offers a number of optional ways to protect information within its system. These include using SharePoint’s out of the box permissions, Flex’s Item Protection system and/ or its Privilege Management system and its Hide options.
