The “Default Title String” function is part of the Web Part Properties of Flex New Form. It enables the List item to display the Account or Contact as the SharePoint Title field.
- Access the New Form for the list in question. For example to change the “Default Title String” for Opportunities, go through the steps to Create a New Opportunity.
- Edit the Web Part properties.
- Scroll down the Web Part to find the Title String field.
Either use [companyname], [contactname] or remove to default to the Title Field name for that list item as set in List Settings.
Note: If you change a default Title string that has been set in Flex Template, for example if [companyname] is set for Tasks and you want to change this to [contactname], then you must also change the default title field in the list from “Account” to “Contact” or some name designating the Contact value.
