Flex Display pages contain a web part called “CRMFormActionBar”. In the screenshot below you can see the Action Bar for a Task item.
Tip: Right Mouse click on Action Bar items to jump to the applicable Sub Grid.
For each type of list you will need to think about which Action Bar Items make sense for that type of list. For example, a Task item will have different Action Bar items than an Account or an Opportunity.
Step 1: Add new setting
Step 2: Type in the setting name and values based on which list the setting is for.

Setting Value: [Display Text]|[Icon File Name]|[ListName]

Note: [Br] is used to push the text after it to the next line for styling purposes.

There are two types of Values that can be added to Action Bar Item Settings:
Create New items – these values are child items that will relate to the item the Action Bar appears for, such as a New Task for an Opportunity. The syntax for these values is “[Text]|Icon Name|Child List”.
Optional Functions
In addition to the “New Item” function various other options can be used on Action Bars, as described below.
Send Via Email: “Send[Br]Via Email|send to outlook.png|openemail” (available for all items which has the applicable Setting)
Upload File: “Upload[Br]File|Import.png|Document Library” (available for items that files can be uploaded to)
Create Flag: “Create[br]Flag|embedded|createflag” (available when added to the List item Setting)
Move Items: “Move[br]Items|embedded|moveitems”
Export to Outlook: “Move[br]Items|embedded|moveitems” (only available for Meeting & Contact List items)
Delete Item: “Delete|delete.png|nolist” (not available for users without delete rights)
Attach Files: “Attach[br]File|attachfile.png|nolist” (available when added to the Setting)
Postpone: “Postpone|embedded|postponetask” (only available for Task List items)
Duplicate Item: “Duplicate [ListName]|embedded|duplicateitem”
Reassign Task: “Reassign Task|Task-Assign.png|reassign” (only available for Task List items)
Email Templates: “Send Email[br]Template|email.png|emailtemplate”
Merge Word Document: “[Text]|Templates.png|mergedocument”
Add to Campaign: “Add to[br]Campaign|embedded|addcontacttocampaign” (only available for Contact items)
