LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network with over 175 million members.
The SharePoint Flex LinkedIn feature offers users a quick link to a Contact’s Linked In profile (should they have one).
All users need to do is add the Linked In profile URL address to the Contact’s LinkedIn Address field as shown below.
Upon mouse-over, the Contact’s LinkedIn profile will be displayed.
This feature is also available from the Contact Sub-Grid once the Linked In address is entered.
Configuring
The only setup required is to add the Hyperlink column field “LinkedIn Address” to the Contact list settings.
As long as this field name is “LinkedIn Address” there is nothing further required. However, if you wish to use another field name you can add the setting below and apply the value (field name) of your choosing.
Setting Name: LinkedInFieldName
Setting Value: LinkedIn Address (or change to the name of your choice)
If Flex site does not have access to Linked In (i.e. blocked by firewall) this feature will not function.
TO DISABLE THIS FEATURE SIMPLY REMOVE THE SETTING IF IT EXISTS, ALONG WITH THE FIELD.
