SharePoint Flex uses the standard SharePoint List web part. The List web part has a number of features to make lists useful for presenting relevant information to users for “viewing” and “analyzing” data.
For example, when a user pulls up a Task list they will only want to see their own Tasks. The filtering capability of the List web part enables this basic functionality to be added to any list making List Views a simple to use yet powerful and flexible tool, much like Flex.
Flex has expanded the usefulness of the List views by adding to the existing SharePoint custom menu. The Custom Menu additions are configured via the CreateNewAndSearchManager Setting.
