Edit Forms can and do contain different sets of Column fields than the New form. Some fields may not be required for editing such as “Created By” and “Created Date” and therefore, will only appear on the Display form.
Edit Forms are modified in the same way that New Forms are.
To work with any of the List Edit forms, simply take the steps as if editing the item in that list. Fast ways to gain access to Flex EditForm2.aspx for a specific item:
- Use the Action bar from the Display page, and select “Edit”:
- Use the Custom Menu available from within a List View:
- Sub-Grids have the ability to edit items unless editing has been turned off for those users.
Once Flex EditForm2.aspx for the specific item has been launched, the Web part properties can be accessed and the form modified.
To modify web parts, you must be a Full Control or Administrator user of Flex.
